In a courtroom in Sicily is in its legal proceedings against a large group of members of two rival mafias. The background to the struggle between the two factions is the construction of a dam, advocated by the group Amedeo Barresi, a manufacturer that aspires to make the contract work, and opposed by the organization which is headed by the engineer Crupi, a rich landowner, that following the implementation of the project would lose its citrus groves.To account for the crimes committed, as victims who have been members of these gangs and innocent, are called the main protagonists in the long chain of bloody events. The ability of defense lawyers can easily dismantle the charges, poorly supported by evidence fragile and timid witnesses. The only two defendants agreed to confess, one is forced to kill himself in prison, the other is passed to dementia, so these are two minor figures to pay for all the others, who are acquitted.
