Wagon Train: McCullough shoots and kills a man trying to steal one of the wagon train's horses. He finds that the man is the husband of a former sweetheart, Allison Justis. McCullough takes the body back to the nearby town, and finds that the man was the mayor and had a sterling reputation. He visits the widow and her young son, but does not initially explain that he was the one who killed her husband. McCullough, with the help of the town sheriff, tries to find an explanation for the mayor stealing a horse, while dealing with the mayor's brother and son, who are intent on revenge.
