Holby City: Linden was under investigation from Martin Kelly after the death of Liam Harris. He accepted the situation but explained his confusion as to why it happened. Jayne later ordered him to leave the hospital on gardening leave. Instead he defied her and prepped for surgery. On discovering that Linden had ignored her and stayed to operate, a furious Jayne told Linden he was suspended. He struggled to relax at home when his pager started to go off. Returning to Holby, he assisted a couple who, it turned out, were expecting conjoined twins. Sam was nervous about his final radiology scan. Maria reassured him it would be alright if he believed. Later, Sam came to HolbyCare looking solemn, which alarmed Maria, but he then broke into a grin - his cancer had gone. He jubilantly kissed Maria on the lips, to her delight. Sam presented Maria with some stolen flowers as a thank you. Meanwhile, Maria prepared for the celebratory drinks he had planned, believing it to be a date. Arriving at the bar, she realised her mistake, got upset and left. Sam stayed and toasted his 'new life' with his colleagues. Jayne summoned Connie and Ric, encouraging them both to apply for the Director of Surgery post. Connie relished the prospect of competition with Ric. However, Jayne later confided in Ric that she would favour his application, much to his surprise. Abra walked out of an operation leaving Ric to clean up his mess. As a result, Ric failed to attend a meeting with Martin Kelly. Believing he'd scuppered his chances for the Director post, Ric threw away the application form. However, Abra secretly applied for the job on Ric's behalf.
