There is confusion in the relief about the use of reasonable force and Sgt Ackland calls for strike action. DCI Meadows orders DC Nadir to remain deskbound following a death threat but he goes on an operation with PC Powell and they find themselves held at gunpoint by a local gangster. DS Hunter discovers that Kate Maltby might lose their baby. PC Casper receives a letter in the internal mail which confirms that someone knows about his affair with Rochelle Barratt.
